A consumer campaign is steering shoppers to Columbus businesses owned by groups hit hardest by the coronavirus pandemic.
The city’s first Buy Black Thursday is April 23, said City Council President Shannon Hardin, who is organizing the event with the Central Ohio African American Chamber of Commerce.
Here is a list of member businesses.
City Council and Franklin County Commissioners have increased small business assistance funding, but the city’s budget depends on income tax and the county’s on sales tax while thousands are losing jobs.
“In this time of Covid, we have to be as creative as possible to support small and minority businesses,” Hardin said.
