COLUMBUS, Ohio РAn announcement was made Tuesday afternoon about a new shelter for people who are homeless in Columbus.

According to a release from the city, the shelter will be for people who are homeless who have COVID-19 but do not require hospitalization.

The announcement took place online and featured Mayor Andrew Ginther, Columbus City Council President Shannon Hardin, Executive Director of the Community Shelter Board Michelle Heritage, and the CEO of YMCA Central Ohio Tony Collins.
