Columbus City Council voted Monday night to re-elect Shannon Hardin as president for the upcoming term.
Council kicked off 2020 with a largely ceremonial reorganization meeting—the agenda had no legislation or even resolutions to honor local dignitaries.
Instead, members voted to elect Hardin to serve as president for the coming two year-term.
“We’re eager to build off our success in 2019 and will work diligently to solve problems for the residents of Columbus,” Hardin said in a statement. “We don’t serve to get elected; we get elected to serve. I am grateful for the opportunity to serve this community with the best Council team in America.”
